Surprisingly, Harlan declined. Ignoring Danielle’s call, he pulled out a chair and seated himself beside Zoe.
Danielle’s expression froze. “Harlan…”
She opened her mouth and tried to speak, but Harlan cut her off before she could.
Harlan said calmly to Danielle, “You know the maid is here to help you. If you need anything, just ask her. She’s been with you for a while now and knows how to take care of you.”
